Chicago not for the outdoor enthusiast -
4/12/2013I have lived in Chicago my whole life. I am starting my research to move to another state for two main reasons... 1) the climate here is the absolute worst and 2) the cost of living is horrendous.
If you like to be outdoors, Chicago is not the place for you. For 7 months a year, its freezing, windy, snowing and raining. The summer is so hot and muggy that you feel tired after being outside for 5 minutes. The only good month is October. If you love nature and like to be outside hiking, biking, swimming, etc., there is nothing here. No mountains, no forests, and the lake is freezing and really not swimmer friendly. There are a few lakes... So, i'm doing my research to find a better place to live.
