4/24/2012We moved here about 7 months ago to take a job that my husband was offered. We came from the Hampton Roads area and we chose to take a job in Texas because of the temperature, housing, cost of living, and other reasons. In some ways, the area is a little cheaper, such as beef, milk, and a lot of produce. The gas is a little cheaper, but, electric is expensive,and some other things as well. In order to go to a lot of area, quickly and directly, there are a lot of toll roads that are even a little more than what we paid driving in the Chicago area. All in all though, it seems like a great place. The school system is pretty good. My biggest complant is that there are a lot of doctors that don't take any type of Medicare, Tricare, Cigna, and a few others. There are also a lot of doctors that don't accept any insurance at all.
