re:
A much nicer city than I remembered

Why are you disparaging Albuquerque comparing Tucson to Albuquerque? I was stationed in Tucson DMAFB from 1992- 2010
I have lived in Albuquerque from 1988-1992, 2010- present. Albuquerque has FAR SUPERIOR infrastructure compared to Tucson. Tucson doesn't have a freeway to speak of, aviation highway doesn't count since its got stoplights and only goes for 3 miles to downtown from Golf Links. Albuquerque has the largest Zoo in the southwest, tram to the resort ontop of Sandias, our own Amusement park, and an actual river flowing thru the city. Tucson has its good points but to suggest Albuquerque is so much worse is imbecilic. After I retired from the military, I worked as the Loss Prevention Supervisor for the Safeway stores in Tucson. I also worked in Albuquerque as the Loss Prevention Mgr for all the Kohls stores. Tucson crime was far worse in my experience for violence, pace of the crimes, and organized retail theft. In Albuquerque we have crime no doubt but to suggest Tucson has far less crime is laughable.

Crime on the rise everywhere - 1/2/2021
I was stationed at DMAFB in Tucson, AZ in 1992. I lived in Tucson for almost 14 years... it was a wonderful city to live, but very hot for my taste. The crime in 1992 was not that bad, however, it increasingly got worse and worse. After serving in the military for 22 years and living in several different cities, I can say crime has steadily increased in every U.S. city equally. Judges and laws have got to get tougher on criminals. Im talking China tough on criminals. Life in prison for any violent crime.

Albuquerque is far better than most cities in the - 11/16/2019
I am a 20 year retired military NCO. I have lived in multiple cities in multiple states. Albuquerque is beautiful and the cost of living is perfect. I read imbecilic negative comments regarding the Duke City. If you think Albuquerque is bad, then you must despise NJ, NY, ATL, LOUISIANA, MICHIGAN, DC, CAL, AZ, OK. These states have far more crime than NM. I have an idea... if you dont like Albuquerque, LEAVE!! I40 runs East to West, I25 runs North to South, pick one and LEAVE! Albuquerque already has far too many foreigners living here. Our freeway worked beautifully in the 80s, 90s, and early 2000s. Today its gridlock because of all the foreigners from other states. Just move out, or dont move in. Bye bye

re:
Old Albuquerqueans do not want you here - 5/29/2019
I agree 100% well said! They come here with a superior thinking attitude, and try to change it to their liking. I can't stand outsiders, especially from the south and east.

Depressive heat, a dying city full of retirees - 4/5/2019
I was stationed at DMAFB in Tucson in 1993. I lived there for 15 years until I retired. Tucson is a wasteland with depressive heat, no freeways AT ALL! A dinky horrible zoo, crime like I have never seen, no jobs, drugs from Nogales like a river, dirt, more dirt, and sand. There is NO WATER, they call their dry river beds as rivers but they are bone dry. No grass, no real trees, except some palm trees. Albuquerque is where we live now, and it's far better in everyway. Albuquerque has a REAL river running right thru it. Albuquerque has the largest Zoo in the southwest, I25 running North to south, I40 running East to West, the countries longest tram to the ski resort on top of the Sandias, an Aquarium, Cliffs playland, mountains everywhere near by, summer temps at 90° Winter rarely snows much. After leaving Tucson, I can really see what's missing in Tucson....everything!

re:
Albuquerque don't like it here feel free - 4/5/2019
I agree 100%. I am retired military, and I lived in Tucson for 18 years. I lived here in Albuquerque from 1988 to 1992 and I've been back here since 2012 after my retirement. I am from Santa Fe originally as all of my family dating back 2000 years. Tucson has nothing to offer, Albuquerque beats Tucson in everyway. People who don't like it here need to leave immediately, but they won't, they just complain and whine.

I've lived in both cities, Albuquerque Wins!! - 4/5/2019
I was born in Santa Fe NM in 1969. My father is a retired Army officer, so at 12 years old we moved to El Paso. Then California, then Huntsville Alabama. I moved to Albuquerque in 1988. I joined the military in 1992. My 1st duty station was DMAFB in Tucson in 1993. I lived in Tucson for 18 years. I retired in 2012 and moved back to Albuquerque in 2012 to get away from the depressive heat, crime, lack of a freeway, and horrible job market in Tucson. I've lived in Albuquerque for a total of 11 years and in Tucson for 18 years...Im pretty sure many who are commenting HAVE NOT lived in both cities as long as I have. Albuquerque has a fantastic freeway system, largest zoo in the southwest, Aquarium, Cliffs amusement park, The countries longest tram to the top of the mountain, a surf facility, and great paying jobs. Tucson is retiree heaven. To many snowbirds who golf and complain. Albuquerque is far superior to Tucson in every way!! And I lived in both for about 30 years of my life. Crime in Tucson is horrible, here in Albuquerque, I have never experienced crime of any sort. Tucson is overrun by drugs and immigrants from Nogales Mexico. The Albuquerque skyline is lit up with colored lights, the freeway and overpasses are lit up with colored lights. Tucson doesn't have so much as a freeway to get around. You have to drive thru the city to get everywhere. Albuquerque wins hands down!
