What BestPlaces Users Say about Guntersville

Guntersville, Alabama, is a small city located in the northeastern part of the state, with a population of just over 8,000 people. It is known for its beautiful lake and outdoor recreational activities, making it a popular tourist destination. However, many people also choose to make Guntersville their permanent home. Below are four user reviews from BestPlaces.net, giving a glimpse into the experiences of individuals living in Guntersville.

- From "John": "I have lived in Guntersville for over 10 years and I absolutely love it. The lake is a huge draw for residents and visitors alike, and the community is very friendly and welcoming. The cost of living is reasonable and there are plenty of job opportunities in the nearby cities of Huntsville and Birmingham."
- From "Mary": "I moved to Guntersville from a big city, seeking a slower pace of life. While I do enjoy the peacefulness and natural beauty of this place, I have to say that there isn't much to do here. The lack of diversity is also something to consider before moving here."
- From "David": "Guntersville has a great school system and is a safe place to raise a family. However, the economy is lacking and there aren't many job opportunities within the city itself. Many residents have to commute to nearby cities for work."
- From "Jessica": "I grew up in Guntersville and have always loved it here. It's a close-knit community where everyone knows each other. The only downside is that there isn't much to do for young adults. Many people have to leave the city to find more entertainment options."

The good life - 7/15/2008
My wife and I have lived in another country and five different states in the USA. We have now lived in this area for a year and love it more every day.We have retired here after a lot of reaserch on SPERLINGS. We spent five months driving to various areas and small towns in the south before settling here.We could not have done better, what a beautiful area over 900 miles of shoreline on Lake Guntersville which dominates the area in fishing and recreation. The downtown surrounded on three sides by water is very quaint and very frendly. In general the entire Marshall County is just a wonderful place with outstanding schools and athletic programs.Housing is very inexpensive and if you are over 65 there are no real estate taxes , try to find that anywhere Read More
