Bluffton is where I want to retire - 7/13/2020
I'm retired and my husband is about to and we're looking for a second home in a more temperate climate (at least, in the winter) than we have now (north of Boston). We're familiar with Hilton Head Island and like it but want more land and less people. We've stayed at Palmetto Bluffs (a large, expensive "community" in Bluffton) and absolutely, ABSOLUTELY love it. It has the golf, fishing, sporting "guns" (skeet, etc) that my husband loves but access to the arts, music, etc that I love. It doesn't have the "feel" of a gated community. It's like a small town with the city of Savannah (GA) close by-but not too close. I'm writing this from a retirement perspective so school quality and other concerns that people with kids may have are not Read More

Knuckleheads crying racism. - 6/30/2019
Just visited for 8 days... LOVE IT HERE! We are from Malibu and this place is nicer. People are nicer, city is nicer, and its just plain... NICER! Those crying racism here I suspect are the same ones that find racism in just about any and everything in their lives.... and really are sad angry people. My experience with my family (yes, we are minority to use a leftist slogan mixed family) with heavily accented english was no negative experiences, and only friendly nice inviting people. If you think there is racism here, try living in Los Angeles and go visit South L.A.... where the minority african community will assault you at least and shoot you at worst simply for being white or hispanic (in my case).  Read More
