Angwin, Little Known but Highly Appreciated

My unincorporated town is in the hills above St. Helena, California, in Napa Valley. We still maintain that rural feel while being minutes from the heart of Napa Valley and all the wonderful things it has to offer.
Naturally, we give up some things because of our location and one must be willing to accept that. Actually, it seems that residents seek this environment over others. We do not have public transportation in Angwin, nor do we have much in the way of shopping. There is one grocery store that does not sell meat, fish, chicken or alcohol due to its being affiliated with the Adventist Church. There is a gas station, bookstore, post office (it delivers mail on Sunday instead of Saturday!), hardware store, credit union and a few small, individually owned businesses such as dental office, etc.
Although the Adventist Church owns quite a bit of the property in this small town, it is by no means populated only by Adventists, as many people from the valley have sought the quiet and beauty of this little spot. There are vineyards, hiking trails, lots of mature trees and wildlife in our community.
Angwin residents can easily leave "the hill" and take advantage of the wonderful restaurants, wineries and small shops offered in the small towns up and down Napa Valley. Quality of life is very high for those who can appreciate this lifestyle, and many do!
